Our skin has a natural protective skin biome – often called the acid mantle – that protects the skin from excess bacteria growth by maintaining a healthy balance. As the name implies, the skin is slightly acidic. But excess acidity or alkalinity of skin care products can irritate the skin and can cause its dysfunction. For reference, neutral pH (neither acid or base/alkaline) is 7, and 0 pH is the most acidic, and 14 pH is the highest base/alkalinity. The Accelerated System products are designed to work with the skin safely and effectively. No redness. No purging.

Fun fact: Glycolic acid is also an acid – but some brands product, in an effort to market its products feature high concentration of the glycolic acid in its formulation, sometimes as high as 20 to 30%. But what does that mean in terms of acidity? It can be excessive – resulting in skin irritation or the product formulation will be formulated so that, despite its high glycolic acid concentration, neutralized to bring the product pH down (but of course, charge more despite it and pretend like its more powerful).
