Metrin Skincare Experience: Gwen’s Journey to finding skin care routine that really works!

“I was raised on a farm in eastern Saskatchewan where you froze in the winter and fried in the summer. Being of Icelandic origin, my skin is fair and not very tough when it comes to strong elements.

In my mid 20s, 1968 I decided that I’d like to try and care for my skin so I took part in a company demonstration. That’s where I learned about clean, protect and moisturize. My husband wasn’t very pleased as money wasn’t very plentiful right out of University. As I used these products, I’d find problems arising, like my skin felt so dry. When I talked about this, there was a solution, – buy another product.

In the early 80s, a cousin asked me to try Metrin. I went and was quite impressed with the simplicity of the program. So, I bought my first kit. This seemed so very easy, 5 bottles and that was all I needed. After I had used this for a few days, my skin felt great. It felt normal, not dry at all. I just love the squeaky-clean feeling. And I didn’t need to wear a makeup. I was thrilled. The twice a day program seemed so natural for routine care.

It wasn’t long after I started to use this product that I notices that my skin pores were much smaller and the little black heads that I had were starting to disappear. When I was out in strong sunshine, I wore a sunscreen.

In 2013, I had body skin problems appear, allergic eczema. A diagnostic patch test showed that I was allergic to MIT, a preservative that was in nearly every product that I used, shampoo, conditioners, sunscreen, etc. I consulted with the Metrin Chemist and he assured me that there was no MIT in Metrin. I am so pleased that Metrin does not use ingredients like MIT. The chemist checked back with me a number of times to be sure that I was doing OK. I was amazed that a company was so caring with their clients.

As I was getting older, I found many people surprised at my age. When my husband commented that I was having my 70th birthday, members at the golf course were surprised that I was that old.

When I was 73 and attending senior’s day at the Calgary Stampede, the attendant questioned if I was a senior.

At 75 years, two people at our cultural event guessed by age as 60. They probably guessed lower to be kind – but that far off.

When I was visiting my brother, 3 years older than me, in a senior’s lodge a staff member asked if I was his daughter.

When I was having my teeth cleaned, I commented that I was 78, the hygienist looked surprised and said, “I didn’t think you were that old!”

Metrin is much more than just the 5-step program. They have a full line of skin care products that have the same quality. I’m very impressed with the shampoo and conditioner. They clean and condition very well, but they seem so very gentle. The hand and body lotion are enriching and moisturizing. And there is much more.”
